curious about humans and machines...

I spent nearly 10 years in web and software development producing digital content and designing screen-based interfaces. I’ve used the computer as a tool to create and share content for most of my life. But as the world is becoming increasingly digital and visual, I am concerned that we will lose our sense of touch. I work with fashion technology and tactile interfaces because I see the skin as the surface where the boundaries between humans and machines are reduced as much as possible without removing them entirely. It also affords unique possibilities for interaction with digital content.

The projects on this site are physical explorations of these concepts and of new materials and technologies. My areas of investigation include wearable displays, flexible circuits, embedded controllers, conductive fabrics, haptics, wireless sensor networks and IoT.
